We believe that smart people, working with cutting edge technologies, developing products & providing services that people & businesses in expanding markets need, will establish successful companies if they work hard, stay dedicated, remain frugal and pay close attention to their customers.
The purpose of the iAccelerator is to establish these world class technology companies in India by providing them the inititial funding, guidance and networks they need to get started.
We help the teams coming into the program thru the process of company formation. When the company is formalized and the bank account is set up we fund it with what money we have committed. Meanwhile, we support in managing the expenses of the startup team. We work with teams to establish a frugal budget. As part of this process we work with the companies to ensure continued survival and growth.
Connecting teams with trainers, advisors, mentors and investors who can ensure that teams develop into world class technology companies is another core part of this process. In addition to supporting internal development these stakeholders can play key roles helping teams achieve their sales and fund raising goals.
Process plays an important role in establishing a new venture. In getting started we work closely with startups to implement development and business processes that facilitate efficient and reliable execution of the company goals. As part of this we work to put in place accounting practices and ensure that all necessary details such as taxes and corporate registrations are taken care of. We discuss individual action items at staff meetings at least once a week. and we have monthly board meetings where teams represent their progress and needs to the board and adjust direction and expectations as needed.
During the program the majority of participant time will be spent developing products and working on the businesses. We will also arrange regular workshops where participants grow their personal skill sets and work on different aspects of their businesses. As part of this we will have regular get-togethers where participants make presentations on what they’ve been working on or different technologies they have been using. Sessions will also be given by Industry veterans who can share some of their experiences in business or specific knowledge around some process or technology of general interest.
The formal part of the program lasts 4 months, but the expectation is that all the businesses coming into the program will continue and we will continue to help them as and when they require our help. We will typically invest 3 – 5 Lakh in companies working with us in exchange for some amount of equity in the venture depending on the completeness of the team, the founders experience and a variety of other factors.
