HydCubator at IIT Hyderabad

The HydCubator is a catalyst equipped to provide the core ingredients for entrepreneurs working on a niche idea – the support will be in the form of a seed fund, a hub or common office area, mentorship in business development and technology and access to networking events. The HydCubator program is the commitment from the startup evangelists, venture capitalists, mentors and academic institutions to support entrepreneurs.

Deployment Model
Selected teams will avail a 60 day residential camp at IIIT-H during the summer months. Two workshops will be conducted covering product development, marketing, brand and business planning. The camp will be followed by 6 month support from the HydCubator team. Each team will be assigned one or two committed mentors for the total 8 month duration. Each selected team will be seed funded to cover incidental expenses (living) for upto Rs 5,00,000.

PESSE in Bangalore

Nandini has set up Entrepreneurship Development Centre at PES School of Engineering, Bangalore, which along with its sister institutions has over 17,000 students. The Centre has an incubator attached to it and provides pre-seed capital, infrastructure and mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Professor Nandini Vaidyanathan, an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics and London School of Economics, spent twenty years in the corporate sector in MNC’s across all inhabited continents.

She is a Mentor with New Ventures India, which is a joint venture between World Resources Institute, Washington and Godrej Green Building Hyderabad and promotes clean tech entrepreneurship.

She is also Mentor with MentorPartners, an online mentoring platform for entrepreneurs. She is co-founder of two companies, Startups (forstartups.blogspot.com) and CARMa (www.carmagroup.in), Startups mentors entrepreneurs on a pro bono basis. Startups is also actively involved in helping women below the poverty line in building micro enterprises in economies as plural as India, Afghanistan, Ethiopia and other countries in the Sub-Saharan Region.

Setu Ventures in Delhi

Vijay has over 15 years of industry experience. Vijay is a ‘parallel entrepreneur’ and has co-founded Eduvisors, India’s largest education sector focused business consulting and research services company; ValueFirst, India’s leading enterprise mobile data services company and Setu Ventures, a firm that provides professional and financial assistance to early stage companies and entrepreneurs.

Vijay earlier worked with Steel Authority of India, E&Y and Glaxo SmithKline and he specializes in the areas of strategy, business development, consulting and engineering.

Vijay’s passions lie in the areas of value creation, technology, entrepreneurship and education.

An engineering graduate from IT-BHU and MBA from XLRI, he has mastered the ‘art’ of evaluating business strategies and organizational processes through his career with working in the domains of public sector, entrepreneurship, information and mobile technology, FMCG and management consulting services.

IIIT Bangalore

The International Institute of Information Technology, a Deemed University, popularly known as IIIT-B, was established in 1999 with a vision to contribute to the IT world by focusing on education and research, entrepreneurship and innovation. Jaaga

Jaaga is a creative community center in the heart of bangalore which seeks to nurture innovative endeavors by providing space, core infrastructure, and a diverse social environment. Several startups from the previous iAccelerator are currently in residence at Jaaga including HashCube and Aploplio. One of Jaaga's founders, Freeman Murray, has extensive experience working with startups in Silicon Valley and India and helped manage the 2009 iAccelerator in Ahmedabad.

Jaaga was born from a desire to bring the arts and technology communities closer together and to explore new ways of using space in an urban landscape to foster innovation. Jaaga provides space and mentoring to tech startups, educational workshops to aspiring students, and event space to local groups and individuals doing interesting things in Bangalore. It has an electronics lab where people are working on next generation lighting systems, and a media lab for training people in new media technologies. There is a cafe which helps create a healthy congenial atmosphere and a variety of events and workshops bring in a diverse group of people from around the world. Jaaga was founded by Freeman Murray a computer programmer turned entrepreneur from California, USA and Archana Prasad a successful artist from Bangalore.
